A male Northern Bobwhite (
Colinus virginianus) has been hanging around near the parking lot areas of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology this summer. Today he was apparently out singing a lot, in plain view on the wires or in trees. I finally connected with him on a short walk in the afternoon with Paul Hurtado, and got excellent views of him sitting and singing from ~25 feet up in a tree next to the parking lot.
