Costa Rica!

I finally bought flight tickets, confirming what I've been working towards all fall: I'm going to Costa Rica this January!

Some light reading

The main portion of the trip will be joining my herper buddies Eric, Tina, and Mike at Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula in the southwest. The place is so remote it takes a day-long hike to reach the ranger station. I'll also be peeling off with Amy to bird some other areas of CR, including Tapanti NP, Braulio Carrillo NP, and Cerro de la Muerte. It's going to be a blast! You can expect more posts on this as the trip approaches.

  1. Nice! Have fun, and don't forget to take pictures of EVERYTHING.

I want the 2 vol. Venomous Reptiles of the Western Hemisphere so much. The Costa Rice guide you have is supposed to be really nice as well.

  2. I assume you're talking about the CR herp guide... that's Ritt's. I'm pretty much letting the others tell me what all the herps are - theres so many to learn, on top of the ~500 bird species I could see.

I can assure you, I will have a month's worth of photo-filled posts when I return.
